  • WHAT HAPPENED?

reported last week that Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group are exploring a deal to acquire Spanish second division side Malaga. THE BIGGER PICTURE

The now reports that if FSG manage to acquire Malaga, it would help the Reds to beat British laws. The latest Brexit rules do not allow English clubs to sign a player from abroad under the age of 18. If Malaga come under FSG's control as a feeder club, the Premier League giants would be able to nurture their U18 talents in Spain and send across over-18 players who fail to procure work permits in the UK.

  • WHAT NEXT FOR LIVERPOOL?

Back on the pitch, Arne Slot's side will be back in action on Wednesday as they take on arch-rivals Everton in a crucial Premier League encounter at Anfield.
